Industrial CPVC Ball Valve (Manual)
Industrial CPVC ball valves give you quarter-turn on/off control of hot corrosive and oxidising media to about 90 °C — hot water, dilute-to-moderate acids, and bleach — in a hand-operated valve built for process duty, not domestic plumbing. We make ours from virgin CPVC to Schedule 80 dimensions with a PTFE seat, in true union and flanged configurations for hydrometallurgy, metal finishing, and chlor-alkali service.
A ball valve gives a full-bore, low-pressure-drop flow path and a fast quarter-turn action, while the PTFE seat handles frequent cycling without leaking. CPVC adds the heat resistance that ordinary UPVC lacks, holding its strength and pressure rating in hot acidic lines.
CPVC chemical compatibility
CPVC is rated to about 90 °C and is especially strong on hot acidic and oxidising media.
Suitable: hot and cold water; sulfuric acid (approx. 10–80%); dilute hydrochloric and phosphoric acids; sodium hypochlorite (bleach); copper-ore acidic leach solutions; chlorine water.
Not recommended: aromatic and chlorinated solvents (benzene, toluene, xylene); fuming sulfuric acid; concentrated nitric acid.
See our chemical resistance reference for more.
True union or flanged?
The true union version (DN15–DN100) screws apart at both ends, so you can remove the valve for cleaning or seat replacement without cutting pipe. It is the practical choice for equipment-bypass sampling ports and small-flow dosing points on a process line.
The flanged version (DN15–DN200) bolts to the pipe through integral flanges for far greater strength against pipe stress, vibration, and thermal movement. It is the standard choice on hot (60–90 °C) high-flow acid and alkali main circulation lines, where the bolted joint stays tight under thermal cycling.
Manual or pneumatic?
Choose the manual valve for low-frequency operation — bypass sampling, manual flow trimming, and backup isolation. For automated dosing, backwash interlocks, or fault shut-off on a pickling line, use our CPVC pneumatic ball valve instead.
Why our industrial CPVC ball valves
- Schedule 80, PTFE seat — built to process dimensions, with a PTFE seat for leak-free service through frequent cycling.
- High-temperature strength — CPVC keeps its rigidity and pressure rating in hot acidic duty where UPVC softens.
- The value choice for hot acids — better hot-acid performance than UPVC, at far lower cost than PVDF.
- 304 or 316 stainless steel stem option, virgin branded resin, and factory-direct supply.
- Lightweight, low cost, minimal maintenance, water-hammer-friendly — the slow manual close avoids pressure surges in plastic lines.
Configurations

- True union: DN15–DN100 (1/2″–4″); socket or threaded ends.
- Flanged: DN15–DN200 (1/2″–8″); ANSI, DIN, or JIS flanges.

Typical applications
Industrial CPVC ball valves suit hot acidic and oxidising duty: hydrometallurgy and copper-ore acidic leach (acid transfer lines), electroplating and metal-finishing hot acid pickling lines, and chlor-alkali and bleach wastewater systems. To weigh CPVC against the other thermoplastics, see our plastic valve material selection guide.

Frequently asked questions
What is an industrial CPVC ball valve used for?
Industrial CPVC ball valves provide manual on/off isolation of hot corrosive and oxidising media to about 90 °C — hot water, dilute-to-moderate acids, and bleach — in copper leach and hydrometallurgy, electroplating pickling lines, and chlor-alkali and bleach wastewater systems.
Is this an industrial Schedule 80 valve rather than a residential plumbing valve?
Yes. These are Schedule 80 industrial process valves built from virgin CPVC with a PTFE seat and EPDM or FKM O-rings, designed for chemical and high-temperature service, not domestic hot-water plumbing.
What temperature and acids can a CPVC ball valve handle?
CPVC is rated to about 90 °C and handles sulfuric acid in the approximate 10–80% range, dilute hydrochloric and phosphoric acids, sodium hypochlorite, and chlorine water — suiting hot acid pickling and copper leach. It is not recommended for fuming sulfuric acid, concentrated nitric acid, or aromatic and chlorinated solvents.
Should I choose a true union or flanged CPVC ball valve?
Choose true union (DN15–DN100) for bypass sampling and small-flow dosing points that are serviced often. Choose flanged (DN15–DN200) for hot, high-flow acid and alkali main lines that need a joint that stays tight under thermal cycling.
What sizes and minimum order apply?
True union runs DN15–DN100 and flanged DN15–DN200, rated PN10, with a minimum order of 20 pieces and OEM/custom options. Send us your media and conditions for a quotation.
